OWNERSHIP

    John C. Smyth and Geralynn (Geri) D. Smyth are the Owners of Calvert.  John serves as President and Geri serves as Vice-President.  They founded the company in the basement of their home on November 1, 1986.  They are the proud parents of three daughters.

     John is responsible for the overall management and performance of the company.  He also directly oversees the New Construction Division for Calvert.  He received his Master Plumbing/Gasfitter certification in 1983 and has worked in the trade since 1976.  He is a member and 2-term Past President of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Baltimore Metro Chapter.  John has also served on the National Board of Directors of ABC, as well as its Mechanical Contractors Council.  John was also selected to serve a two-year term as a Trustee of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).  He has served as a member of the Baltimore County Plumbing Board since 1996, and has been the Chairman of that Board since 2002.  John also serves on the Baltimore County Plumbing Code Committee.  He is a member of the Maryland and National Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors (MPHCC/NPHCC), is a member of the Engineering Society of Baltimore, is an Associate Member of ASHRAE, and is a Board Member of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA).  John has been active in the community through his local recreation council and church.  He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Notre Dame Preparatory School, Archbishop Curley High School, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and the Franklin Square Hospital Foundation.  John has been a Trustee of the Marion I. and Henry J. Knott Foundation since 1983.  He served as President of that organization from 1999 to 2004.  John is a JCI Senator, having served as President of the Greater Towson Junior Chamber of Commerce, and as a 3-term Vice-President of the Maryland Junior Chamber of Commerce.

    Geri Smyth has recently retired from Calvert after 18 years.  She was responsible for the Human Resources and Payroll, accounting, and general office management functions of the company.  Her background is in office performance, having graduated from the Medix School in 1976.  Geri is a Past President of the Greater Towson Jaycee Women.  She has been active in coaching basketball and lacrosse in the local recreation council.  Geri served two terms on the Parish Council of St. Joseph Texas.  She has been a Trustee of the Marion I. and Henry J. Knott Foundation since 1983 and has served as a committee chair for this foundation.  She has also served as a member of their Executive Committee.  She served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, MD. from 2002 to 2008.
 

SERVICE

    Angelo Campanella is the Plumbing Service Manager.  He is responsible for the overall performance of the Plumbing Service area.  He supervises all Plumbing service technicians, plumbing dispatch and customer service.  Angelo holds a Master Plumber/Gasfitter license. Angelo also performs plumbing service estimates for both residential and commercial service work.  Angelo has been in the plumbing field since 1978 and, having been with Calvert since 1987, is our longest-tenured employee.  Supporting Angelo as a Salesman and Estimator is Dan Valente.  Dan has been with Calvert since 1990, and is a licensed Journeyman plumber. 

    Bryant Gorrell is the HVAC Service Manager.  He is responsible for the overall performance of the HVAC Service area.  He supervises all HVAC service technicians, HVAC dispatch and customer service.  Bryant holds a Master HVAC license. Bryant also performs HVAC service estimates for both residential and commercial work. He has been in the HVAC field since 1982 and has been with Calvert since 1995.

     Jim Keseling is the HVAC Sales Manager for Calvert.  As such, he is responsible for the performance of estimates, the execution of work for clients and customer service.  He works jointly with Angelo and Bryant to ensure the overall success and performance of Calvert’s Service Department.  Jim holds an HVAC Masters license.  Jim has been in the HVAC trade since 1974 and has been with Calvert since 1998.  Also working to serve our customers in the HVAC service area is Carl Eifert.  Carl provides sales and estimating support to the HVAC Service area and has been with Calvert since 1999.  Carl is a licensed Journeyman HVAC tech and was previously our Senior Field Tech.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

    Ken Ernstberger is a Project Manager for the Construction Division of Calvert.  Ken has been with Calvert since 1995, and has been in the Plumbing trade since 1978.  He holds a Master Plumber/Gasfitter Certification

   Chris Halstad is also a Project Manager for the Construction Division at Calvert.  Chris started as a Foreman for Calvert in 2000 and has steadily progressed, serving as Plumbing Superintendent for 4 years before being promoted to Project Manager in 2007.  Chris is certified as a Master Plumber/Gasfitter.

ADMINISTRATION

    Maureen Tipton serves as Controller for Calvert.  Maureen started with Calvert in 2007.  She is a CPA and is responsible for all Human Resources, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and Billing functions.
